We both received cease and desist notices for names that were trademarked by someone else. He got one for Biggie Smalls and we received one for Bonnie and Clyde. Even though this album was released in 2008 and the people below in the notice just got their trademark in 2012, it’s legally their name now. Below is a link to help you understand how to trademark your name. We really didn’t have the group named Bonnie and Clyde but more just name of the album. Both artists(male and female) was just using that moniker as the album name.
The Back To School Book Donation is Courtesy of Carol and Greg Waties and Family!
Carol Waties seen here at one of the open mic nights she hosts.
It was reported earlier this week that the 30 plus books that will be given out this evening at The AC PAL were a donation from The Kitabu Book Club.
We have been informed that The Kitabu Book Club has made a donation of school supplies. However, the donation of teen reading material we collected this week.
Is a donation from Carol and Greg Waties and Family.
We again thank them and apologize for any confusion.
It all started because Raymond Tyler wants to help artists live their dreams. Tyler understands that artists can do more together than apart.
Tyler explains "When you have artists that understand that my success does not take away from your success it's a good thing. However, when the same group of creative people are actually happy when any of us succeed and understand that we all benefit? That friends is a blessing."
While all of The Next Artists will not be at The Back To School Jam, the ones that will are going to give the students from ACHS one serious show.
POETRY ANNE LYRIX- is what "speaking from the heart" looks like. This young woman steps on a stage like she was born ready and commands the mic like she was built to "MOVE THE CROWD." Her Messages Can Make X-Clan take a second look at their blackness "SISSIES!"
Noel Tyminski-Is building her own genre that DJ Trouble Man calls "GREEN EYED SOUL." At 14 or 15 years old she understands more about Soul Music than most of the 25 and under R&B singers you hear 5 times an hour on the radio. Tyler says of Noel. "I would rather have Noel do one song on my show. Than to have several songs by artists with a bigger following who do not understand their craft and do not love it enough to make it better." In Short. Noel has to be heard to believed. I heard her voice. Now I'm A Believer!
Cheryl B. Sellers-Can be nick named the lynch pin. If Raymond Tyler is the mind behind The Next Artists, Cheryl "Miss Cheryl" Sellers is the glue that keeps it together. Cheryl's biggest value today is behind the scenes and in welcoming all to the events. However Cheryl gets her shine on at every event and holds down two radio shows as a producer. Sunday's at 4pm she can be heard on The Weekend Mix Tape with her segment (that is really a show with in a show) GOLDEN on 91.7 FM WLFR and then on Monday's she's on WNJC 1360 am at 6pm with The Music and Entertainment Report. She also has 2 best selling books out from Publish America.
Michelle Moseley-The Choice of The Next Generation. Michelle is not only The Hood's Favorite Female Poet but she has been known to make crowd yell and shout in the burbs as well. Michelle has a grasp for understanding the human life like few other poets you will ever hear. She has multiple CD's out and has build an audience that would go to war for this spoken word "soldier."
Tyler believes "Moseley is the young female version of who I was several years ago. She comes to the venue handles her business, gives out her blessings, and encourages all to be better than when she stepped on stage. You will not hear her speak and be the same person. If that's not why we do poetry? What the heck are we doing with our lives." She is also a producer of The Weekend Mix Tape on WLFR.
DJ Trouble Man-Is Raymond Tyler when he's on the turn tables. Tyler has been spinning and remixing music since the tender age of 15 and he's a little older than that now. He just wants to share some good music. He has one other goal. "I want people to go home and talk about how I played their fave music for them. That's what the DJ's I loved and still love make me do when I hear them." Off Stage Tyler is the writer of Shiny Boxes from Publish America.
The Back to School Jam is welcoming every one from every where! The focus is to help students going back to Atlantic City High School. Besides The Next Artists their will be community speakers,Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford will be in the building, there will be book give a ways and much more!
Writer Vytamin Voyce will be signing her new book Ante Up at The Back To School Jam!
The Back To School Jam is made possible by a donation from T Marquise Entertainment!
